Introduction
Single instruction stream and single data stream are one of the four computer processing architecture categories in the Fehling classification. In this classification system, the classification is based on the number of instruction streams and data streams, which are used to classify computer processing architectures. According to Michael J. Fehlin, when instruction and data processing is streamlined/pipelined, single instruction stream and single data stream can also have the characteristics of parallel computing. Pipelined instruction fetching and execution is very common in contemporary single instruction stream single data stream processing machines.
