The miniature accelerometer is usually suspended from the reference support by an elastic element (such as an elastic beam). The acceleration causes a relative displacement between the reference bracket and the inertial mass, and the strain or displacement is measured through a varistor or a variable capacitor to obtain the acceleration value.
