  • Multipointconnectionlinkreferstohowmany(n>2)nodesareconnectedbyonelink.

Accordingtodifferentcommunicationmethods,linkscanbedividedintothefollowingtwocategories:

    LinkaggregationistheaggregationofmultiplephysicalEthernetportstogethertoformalogicalaggregationgroup.Theupperlayerentitythatusesthelinkaggregationservicecombinesmultiplephysicallinksinthesameaggregationgroup.Thinkofitasalogicallink. 

    Linkaggregationcanrealizetheloadsharingofinbound/outboundloadamongthememberportsintheaggregationgrouptoincreasebandwidth.Atthesametime,eachmemberportofthesameaggregationgroupdynamicallybacksupeachother,whichimprovesconnectionreliability.

    Device AandDevice BareconnectedthroughthreephysicalEthernetlinks,andthesethreelinksarebundledtogethertobecomealogicallinkLink aggregation 1,thebandwidthofthislogicallinkItisequaltothesumofthebandwidthoftheoriginalthreeEthernetphysicallinks,thusachievingthepurposeofincreasingthelinkbandwidth;atthesametime,thesethreeEthernetphysicallinksbackupeachother,whicheffectivelyimprovesthereliabilityofthelink.
