Thedifferencebetweenpinyintext(phonemetext)andsyllabictext(Japanese)isthatonecharacterpositionofasyllabletextrepresentsasyllable,suchasJapanesekana;andOnewordpositionofapinyintextonlyrepresentsonephoneme.

Semi-syllabletext:thephoneticunitrepresentedbyaletterBetweensyllablesandphonemes,suchasphoneticletters.Voweltextandconsonantphonemetext:Aletterrepresentsaphoneme,butvowelsandconsonantsaretreateddifferently.Fullphonemetext:Aletterrepresentsaphoneme,andmostoftheexistingtextsystemsarePinyintext.Thephoneticscriptsystemmostusedin2019istheLatinalphabet.
