DuringhistenureasaWhiteHousereporter,Broadalwaysmaintainedasharpquestioningstyleandneverstoppedwritinghisowncolumn.Hishalf-centurycareerisawesome:since1956,hehascoveredallnationalpoliticalconferences;since1960,hehasparticipatedinallpresidentialcampaignreports.
Broadisamanwhohasonlyhadonejobinhislife.Untilonemonthbeforehisdeath,hewasstillwritingabiweeklypoliticalcolumnfortheWashingtonPost.
