InNovember1931,theCommunistPartyofChinahelditsfirstnationalconferenceinRuijin,Jiangxi.TheSovietCongressestablishedacentraldemocraticgovernmentwithMaoZedongasitschairman.Inordertomeettheneedsoftherevolutionarywar,withtheapprovaloftheCentralMilitaryCommission,onNovember20th,thefirstmilitarymedicalschoolfoundedbytheCommunistPartyofChinawasborninRuijin,Jiangxi.HeChengservedastheprincipal.

February1932,ChinaWorkersandPeasantsRedArmyMedicalSchoolTheopeningceremonyofthefirstphaseofthemilitarymedicalperiodwasheldinYudu,Jiangxi.ComradeMaoZedongformulatedtheschoolpolicyof"politicalfirmnessandexcellenttechnology"fortheschool.RedArmyCommander-in-ChiefZhuDeandChiefofStaffYeJianyingattendedthemeetinganddeliveredspeeches.

InOctober,onthebasisoftheestablishmentofthemilitarydoctorperiod,theschoolsuccessivelyopenedadjustmentclasses,nursingclasses,andhygienistsClassandhealthlongclass.TheCentralMilitaryCommissionchangedthenameoftheChineseWorkersandPeasantsRedArmyMedicalSchooltotheChineseWorkersandPeasantsRedArmyHealthSchool.Theschoolhasapoliticaloffice,educationofficeandgeneralaffairsoffice.InOctober1934,inordertosmashtheKMTarmy’sfifth"encirclementandsuppression"oftheCentralRevolutionaryBase,theCentralRedArmybeganastrategicrelocationandcarriedoutalongmarchof25,000miles.TheChineseWorkers'andPeasants'RedArmyHealthSchoolaccompaniedtheCentralMilitaryCommissionandsetofffromRuijininmid-October.
InOctober1936,theRedArmyHealthSchooloftheChineseWorkersandPeasantsarrivedinnorthernShaanxiwiththeCentralMilitaryCommission.

InJuly1937,whentheAnti-JapaneseWarbrokeout,theEighthRouteArmyHealthSchool,DrovetotheAnti-JapaneseFrontLinewiththeGeneralMinistryofHealth.
InMarch1940,aftertheschoolmovedtoYan'an,itdevelopedrapidly.AtthesuggestionofComradeMaoZedong,theschoolwasrenamedChinaMedicalUniversity.WangBincontinuestoserveastheprincipaloftheschool.Theschoolhasaschooldepartment.Theschool’s"SchoolCharter"stipulatesthatthenatureoftheschoolis:"undertheleadershipoftheCommunistPartyofChina,itisengagedintrainingtechnicalpersonnel";theschool'sgoalisto"trainrevolutionaryandtechnicallyexcellenthealthofficialstomeettheneedsofthewarandthefoundingofthecountry.Strivetotheendforthecauseofnationalliberationandcommunism";theeducationalpolicystipulates:"trainhealthworkerswhoarepoliticallyfirm,ideologicallycorrect,loyaltotheirduties,andcarryouttheirduties."Theschoolhasadjustedtheschoolsystem,themilitarymedicalperiodisfouryears,thepharmaceuticalclassisthreeyears,andtheadjustmentclassisoneyear.
OnNovember18,1945,inaccordancewiththespiritofthePartyCentralCommittee’sinstructionstoestablishandconsolidatetheNortheastRevolutionaryBase,ChinaMedicalUniversitysetoutfromYan'anandadvancedintotheNortheast.
InJuly1946,ChinaMedicalUniversityarrivedinXingshan,Heilongjiang(nowHegangCity),andmergedwithNortheastMilitaryMedicalUniversity(formerlyHarbinArmyMilitaryMedicalSchool).
InJanuary1947,ChinaMedicalUniversitymergedwithNortheasternUniversitySchoolofMedicineandpartoftheformerHarbinMedicalUniversity.Theschoolhasawell-equippedaffiliatedhospitalwith4hospitals,eachwith300-400beds.

Inearly1948,ChinaMedicalUniversityestablished4branchcampuses,andtheJilinMilitaryUniversitybranchcampuswasestablishedinLongjing.Itisthefirstbranchschool,focusingoninternalmedicine;thesecondbranchschoolisestablishedinHarbin,focusingonthefivesenseorgans;theTongliaoCityLiaodongMilitaryRegionMedicalCollegeisestablishedasthethirdbranch;thePingguDistrictJireliaoMedicalCollegeisestablishedasthefourthbranch.InOctober1948,undertheorderofsuperiors,theschoolsentthevicepresidentLiTingzhiledsomecadres,teachersandstudentstotakeovertheformerChangchunUniversitySchoolofMedicine,formingtheChangchunMilitaryMedicalUniversity;thefirstandsecondbranchesmergedintothepresentHarbinMedicalUniversity,thethirdThebranchcampuswasmergedintothemaincampus;thefourthbranchcampuswasformedasthecurrentChengdeMedicalCollege.
InNovember1948,thewholeofNortheastChinawasliberated,andChinaMedicalUniversitywasorderedtostationinShenyang.AccordingtotheinstructionsoftheNortheastAdministrativeCommitteeandtheNortheastMilitaryCommand,theformerNationalShenyangMedicalCollege(formerlyManzhouMedicalUniversity)wasmerged.,Establishedin1911bytheJapaneseNationalNanmanRailwayCo.,Ltd.)andtheformerprivateLiaoningMedicalUniversity(formerlyknownasShengjingshiHospitalMedicalSchool,establishedin1883bymedicalmissionariesdispatchedbytheUnitedChristianPresbyterianChurch).
InMay1949,inaccordancewiththeorderoftheNortheastMilitaryRegionandNortheastAdministrativeCommittee,theChinaMedicalUniversitywasplacedundertheleadershipoftheNortheastAdministrativeCommitteebytheChinesePeople'sLiberationArmy.WangBin,MinisterofHealthoftheNortheastAdministrativeCommission,wasappointedastheprincipal,BaiXiqing,ViceMinisteroftheMinistryofHealth,asthevicepresident,ChenYingqianandQueSenhuawerethevicepresidents,andtheprincipal’sofficewasestablished.Theschoolconsistsof8colleges,includingtheFirstHospital,theSecondHospital,theSchoolofInternalMedicine,theSchoolofSurgery,theSchoolofDentistry,theSchoolofPublicHealth,andtheSchoolofWomenandInfants.
InJuly1949,NortheastCollegeofPharmacywasmergedintoChinaMedicalUniversityandbecametheSchoolofPharmacy.
InMarch1950,ChinaMedicalUniversityrecruitedstudentswithhighschooleducationforthefirsttimenationwide.Theschoolsystemisfiveyears.
InOctober1950,theKoreanWarbrokeout.Accordingtotheinstructionsofsuperiors,someteachersandstudentsoftheschoolformedasurgicalteamandastretcherteam,andestablishedtheBei’anHospitalinBei’anCounty,HeilongjiangProvincetotakecareofthewoundedoftheChinesePeople’sVolunteerstoresisttheUSandaidKorea.Work.
InOctober1952,theSchoolofPharmacyofChinaMedicalUniversitywasrenamedNortheastCollegeofPharmacy(nowShenyangPharmaceuticalUniversity)inaccordancewiththedecisionoftheMinistryofEducationontheadjustmentoffaculties,andwasseparatedfromtheestablishmentofChinaMedicalUniversity.
InAugust1954,theadministrativeagencyoftheNortheastPeople’sGovernmentwasabolished,andChinaMedicalUniversitywasplacedundertheleadershipoftheMinistryofHealth.
InOctober1955,ChinaMedicalUniversityacceptedthepostgraduatetrainingtaskassignedbytheMinistryofHealth,makingChinaMedicalUniversityoneofthefirstschoolsinChinatoestablishpostgraduateeducation,anditwasalsothebeginningofpostgraduateeducationinChinaMedicalUniversity.
InJuly1955,inaccordancewiththedecisionoftheMinistryofEducationontheadjustmentofschoolsanddepartments,theDepartmentofPublicHealthofChinaMedicalUniversitywasmergedintoHarbinMedicalUniversity,andtheschoolestablishedahealthteachingandresearchgroup;theDepartmentofPediatricsofHarbinMedicalUniversitywasmergedintoChinaMedicalUniversity.
InAugust1955,inaccordancewiththeinstructionsoftheMinistryofHealth,theschoolestablishedtheDepartmentofMedicalCareandtheDepartmentofPediatrics.
ShenyangMedicalCollege
September1956,accordingtotheStateCouncil’sadjustmentofmedicalschoolsAccordingtothedecision,ChinaMedicalUniversitywasrenamedShenyangMedicalCollege.In1962,theDepartmentofPublicHealthwasre-mergedintoHarbinMedicalUniversity.
In1976,accordingtotheinstructionsoftheMinistryofEducation,theschoolbegantoundertakethetaskofcultivatinginternationalstudents,andinternationalstudentsfrom8countriesenrolled.TheschoolrebuildstheDepartmentofPublicHealth.

March1978,approvedbytheMinistryofHealth,theschoolRestorethenameofChinaMedicalUniversity.
OnMarch1,1978,theChinaMedicalUniversityheldameetingtocelebratetherestorationofthenameoftheChinaMedicalUniversityandtheestablishmentoftheschoolcard.Therelevantministriesandcommissionsofthestateandtheleadersoftheprovincesandcitiespersonallyattendedthemeetingtoexpresstheircongratulations.
InSeptember1978,ChinaMedicalUniversitysetupasix-yearEnglishmedicalclassforthefirsttimeinthecountry.
InNovember1981,theStateCouncilapprovedChinaMedicalUniversity’sfirstbatchofdoctoral,master’sdegreeauthorizeddisciplines,majorsandtutors,2doctoraldegreeauthorizeddisciplines,and21master’sdegreeauthorizeddisciplines.
InMarch1982,withtheapprovaloftheMinistryofHealth,ChinaMedicalUniversityestablishedadegreeevaluationcommittee.Accordingtothestate'srelevantregulationsondegreegranting,32peoplewereawardedmedicaldegreesforthefirsttime.
InMay1987,theAffiliatedStomatologicalHospitalofChinaMedicalUniversityheldanopeningceremonyandbecamethefirstuniversityundergraduateoralteachinghospitalinLiaoningProvince.

InMay1994,ChinaMedicalUniversityestablishedtheBasicMedicalCollegeonthebasisoftheoriginalMinistryofBasicMedicine.TheschoolisahighermedicalschoolundertheformerMinistryofHealthofthePeople'sRepublicofChina.ItwastransferredtothemanagementofthePeople'sGovernmentofLiaoningProvincein2000.
In2010,itwasselectedasanational"CharacteristicKeyDisciplineProject"constructionuniversity.
InMay2010,theconstructionlandfortheschool’snewcampusinShenbeiNewDistrictwasformallyapprovedbytheStateCouncil.
InJuly2010,thegroundbreakingceremonyforthenewcampuswasheldinthenewcampusofShenbeiNewDistrict.
InSeptember2010,theschoolandQueen’sUniversitysignedastrategiccooperationagreementonteachingandscientificresearch.
InOctober2010,theschoolsignedamemorandumofcooperationwiththeTohokuUniversitySchoolofMedicineinJapan.
Attheendof2011,hewasselectedintotheNationalConstructionHigh-levelUniversityPublicPostgraduateProgram.
InMay2013,itwasselectedasoneofthefirstbatchofnationalpilotuniversitiesforthereformofthepostgraduatetrainingmodelforthemaster'sdegreeinclinicalmedicine.
InNovember2014,theoldcampuswasrelocatedtotheShenbeicampus.
InDecember2015,theacademicinfluenceofclinicalmedicine,pharmacologyandtoxicology,neuroscienceandbehavior,biologyandbiochemistryofChinaMedicalUniversityenteredtheworld'stop1%ofESIrankings.
In2016,thePeople'sGovernmentofLiaoningProvince,theNationalHealthCommission,andtheMinistryofEducationjointlyestablishedtheChinaMedicalUniversity.
In2017,itwasselectedasakeyconstructionuniversityforafirst-classuniversityinLiaoningProvince(akeyconstructionuniversityforhigh-leveluniversitiesinChina);inthesameyear,theLiaoningProvincialFamilyPlanningResearchInstitutewastransferredtoChinaMedicalUniversity.
OnSeptember26,2018,ChinaMedicalUniversityandtheShenyangBranchoftheChineseAcademyofSciencessignedacomprehensivestrategiccooperationagreement.
OnJuly20,2020,theMinistryofEducationapprovedthecancellationoftheestablishmentoftheSchoolofClinicalMedicineofChinaMedicalUniversity.
