Cablemodemhasthecharacteristicsofhighcostperformance,asymmetricprivatelineconnection,notlimitedbyconnectiondistance,usuallydoesnotoccupybandwidth(onlythebandwidthisoccupiedwhendownloadingandsendingdata),anditisnotwrongtowatchTVonline..
Thetransmissionrateofkaapelimodeemiinonechannelisupto27~36Mbps.ThebandwidthofeachcableTVchannelis8MHz,andthebandwidthoftheHFCnetworkis750MHz,sotheentirebandwidthcansupportnearly90channels.IntheHFCnetwork,therearecurrentlyabout33channels(550-750MHzrange)reservedfordatatransmission,andtheentirebandwidthisconsiderable.
